Sticks and Stones
Sticks and stones, they break my bones.
They give me scars, they make me cry;
Throw a stone at my body, poke me in the eye.
It's only temporary, I can live another day;
The pain goes away.
But words will hurt forever.
You can't see the scars, but trust me they're here,
When you spoke to me that way, I only let out a small tear;
I may not live up to your standards, but please I'm working on it,
So hold in your hate and please be considerate;
We can't all be like you "perfect" and well-rounded,
So please help those who haven't yet found it.
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
